Jim rose valiantly to the two big challenges we set of building a tiered/raised vegetable garden on a very steep slope and creating a formal/symmetrical sunken garden in an asymmetric space (and again on a slope). What has particularly impressed us has been the empathy of Jim’s design and structures with the environment of an 18th century farmhouse. It’s impossible to make a new garden structure look as though it has been there for three hundred years but Jim has made a very good stab at it! The quality of his workmanship (especially his dry stone walling) has also been excellent. Basically he has listened to and understood the brief and then been careful to involve us in the many ongoing design decisions. We will certainly be using his services again.

Good to hear from you and I hope that all is going well. The garden goes from strength to strength as it matures and my friends all comment how good it looks and cannot believe how comparatively new it is. The concept, detailed planning and installation proved to be a triumph.

More than seven years ago, in the winter of 2005, Jim transformed the garden of the house I had recently moved to – a dead space of gravel, brick and overlarge conifers – into an inspirational green garden threaded through with a curved path of brick and slate that is admired by everyone. He also built a shed in brick with a slate roof that looks as if it has always been there. Jim’s use of recycled, local and environmentally friendly materials has been entirely appropriate for the garden of a Victorian house and he has now completed the project by relaying the area just by the house, again with brick and slate in a swirling pattern but combined with Black Mountain stone that gives the garden a sense of permanence. Jim has helped me achieve the sort of garden I wanted by always listening carefully. This enabled him to interpret my ideas at the same time as bringing his own creative vision to the whole project; the end result is the very special Copper Beech identity that he has developed over the years. I have nothing but praise for Jim’s work for me.

We only have a small garden but Copper Beech introduced some lovely elements and soft curves that used the available space well. Jim has a great eye for beauty, design and interesting materials that sit well in any garden, large or small.

Copper Beech provided an excellent service. They listened to our ideas carefully and created a design that maximised the potential of our small-ish back garden. Copper Beech’s use of reclaimed materials in a sympathetic and creative way gave our garden a real ‘wow’ factor and definitely provided us with something that we couldn’t have done ourselves. Jim communicated well throughout the process and worked hard, bringing the work in on the agreed timescale.

I asked Copper Beech for help completing some work in my garden. I had an idea for a seating area, and talked this through with Jim. We agreed on a price, and the work started. A few days later, it was all finished, and when I came to pay, Jim explained that it had come in slightly cheaper than his original quote. I was very pleased with the work; it looked just as I’d imagined, and was carried out very cleanly and efficiently.

We are delighted with the beautiful garden Copper Beech designed and created for us.

Huge thanks for all your work on the garden – it looks utterly transformed and I am thrilled. The grass has been growing apace with all the rain! And the little box bushes look very neat and delightful.
Thank you so much – and I’ll be in touch again later in the year if/when the garden needs some more TLC.
Jim landscaped both my front and rear gardens. His work was impeccable. He pays great attention to detail and uses materials with sensitivity. Both areas have been much admired and enhanced the house considerably.

Thank you for all of the work you have undertaken at the Wagon Shed, Perton.
We found your quotes for the various works to be both reasonable and fair and we are extremely pleased with the results.
From first meeting you, we have found your work to be quite inspirational and you have turned our dream projects into reality.
These projects have ranged from traditional tasks of terracing and stone walling to a more contemporary water feature and rill, as well as planting beech hedges and establishing a different form of boundary treatment comprising posts and a rope swag.
We have found you to be hard working, extremely conscientious, talented and skillful. You are a very tidy worker so that mess and disruption is kept to a minimum. It was therefore a pleasure to actually have you working in our garden.
You will always be our first choice for landscape work.
Thank you, Jim.
